Early Sunday mornings, villagers from various ethnic communities gather to sell their products or livestock at the market of Bac Ha, which then transforms into what may well be one of the most colourful markets in Vietnam. Many people arrive on foot, on ponies or if some are rich enough can drive motorcycles or be carried by motorbike carrier. The Dongxuan market in Hanoi was officially built in the middle of 1889, possessing advantages of traffic and population.Espacially , after the construction of Long Bien Bridge by the French , the market gained its position as the bustling trading center of not only Hanoi but also the North , speedily received the afftention of tradesmen from France , Spain , India .. Along with maintaining trad-ing streets and the production of traditional handy crafts was also the home to commercial offices of the French , Chinese , India and Vietnamese tradesmen.
The Can Cau Market is Located in Si Ma Cai District, Northern Vietnam. It is a traditional market of the ethic minority people called the Red Mhongs The Red Mhongs have been living here for many generations and the market itself caters mainly for their simple needs. This is one of not many ethic markets with its traditional style, glamour and colour.
Dong Ba market is on the north bank of the Perfume River, just over the Truong Tien bridge. It has hundreds of stalls selling almost everything. The market was dated from many years ago, after the local people’s habit of travelling and doing business by boat. Market-goers do not bargain, just a few words exchange, they sell and get paid. This Tuesday market is about 70 km from Sapa. You can get here via a fairly good road, or by road and river; hotels in Sapa and Bac Ha can organise trips.Coc ly is a small village on the Chay river inhabited by the Flower H'mong Minority people. The Flower H'mong traditionally wear a distinctive and bright coloured costume. They are a gentle, softly spoken people who live in the steep mountainous country close to the Chinese border. Because Coc Ly is more remote than Sapa, the dress and way of life is more traditional than in the large centers. To Phung Hiep, visitors will see thousands of small boats full of agricultural products from Western corners to form 1km long floating market. It's said to be a fruit-market of the Southern part and the market is cultural identity of the Mekong Delta. The market meets all day long, but most noisy and busy in the morning.
